Visiting Oregon Coast
From an Oregon coast Spring Break to summer fun along Oregon’s Pacific Ocean sands, add the west coast of Oregon to your travel itinerary. Lincoln City on the central Oregon Coast has a full calendar for spring break 2013, including the Festival of Illusions, glass art drops along the beach and whale watching tours. Return to Lincoln City in June for the Siletz Bay Music Festival – classical, jazz and musical theater performances. Travel south to Coos Bay for summer’s Oregon Coast Music Festival and the inaugural Fipple Fest. Astoria and Seaside in Oregon’s north coast are equally enticing destinations.
Enjoy Oregon’s coastal cuisine at the spring 2013 Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival. Visit the Clatsop County Fairgrounds on Highway 202, April 26th through 28th, for a classic Oregon Coast experience. Enjoy the best of Oregon wines and seafood while you listen to popular local musicians. Great food, drink and music – it doesn’t get better than the Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival.
Runners set your training for the June 1st Newport, Oregon Marathon. Oregon Coast Bank presents the Newport Marathon marking the 15th year for the running event. Located in the heart of Oregon’s central coast, Newport sets an out-and-back course starting in Yaquina Bay Bay State Park and winding through city neighborhoods and along Yaquina Bay and back. Enjoy the scenic Oregon coast and sea breeze at the Newport Marathon.
The 35th Annual Oregon Coast Music Festival is the longest running music festival on the Oregon coast. Catch the music of the 2013 Oregon Coast Music Festival, July 13th through the 27th in locations throughout Coos Bay. The music begins on July 13th at Mingus Park with the Bay Area Concert Band and continues through the week with the Gold Coast Chorus & Sea Breeze Sweet Adelines Barbershop. Visit Shore Acres State Park for Big Band on Saturday, and see the Oregon Coast Festival Orchestra Concerts July 23rd, 25th and 27th.
Call it a tin whistle, penny whistle, Scottish penny whistle, or Irish whistle – celebrate it at Fipple Fest 2013. The inaugural US whistle festival is hosted in Coos Bay on the Oregon coast, July 26th through the 28th. The Fipple Fest schedule includes workshops, vendors and as many as 20 musical acts. Make history at the first whistle festival in downtown Coos Bay.
