Spring and summer along the Oregon coast are the ideal seasons for outdoor adventure.Travel from Astoria and Seaside in the north, to Brookings and Harbor in the south, to enjoy festivals, events, and outdoor adventures.
The Lincoln City Learning Feast fills Lincoln City with Travel to Grow experiences. The 2014 Lincoln City Spring Learning Feast includes Hands-on Italian Cooking April 3rd through 5th, contemporary dance instruction April 8th and 15th, and shell printing on rice paper on April 18th. Explore Lincoln City and find a new hobby this April on the Oregon coast.
While you’re in Lincoln City, be sure to join the 2014 Finders Keepers – the search for glass floats on the beach. Through May 26th, hand-blown glass floats crafted by local artists are hidden on the beach to be discovered by Oregon coast visitors. Search above the tide line along the beach, and when you find a float call the Lincoln City Visitor and Convention Bureau for information about the artist.
Enjoy the bounty of the Oregon coast at the Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival 2014. Held at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds on Highway 202, the festival runs April 25th through 27th. Sample wine and beer from over 50 wineries and craft brewers, as you browse arts and crafts vendors.
The Oregon Coast Music Festival is a highlight of summer in Coos Bay. Music fills venues across Coos Bay, North Bend, and Bandon during the 2014 festival, July 12th through 26th. Enjoy the Bay Area Concert Band performance at Mingus Park on July 12th; the Sprague Community Theatre in Bandon hosts Left Coast Jazz on July 25th, and Orchestra Concert II closes the festival on July 26th at Marshfield High School Auditorium.
The southern Oregon coastal community of Brookings hosts the 4th Annual Pirates of the Pacific Festival August 8th through 10th. Join the 2014 fun at the Port of Brookings – Harbor Boardwalk and enjoy magic, music, sword fighting, and great food. Don’t miss the pirate fun on the Kite Field.
Sixteen miles south of Astoria, the Seaside community hosts the finish of the 2014 Hood to Coast Relay. Welcome running teams finishing the 199-mile adventure race on Seaside beach, just north of the Broadway Avenue turnaround. Featuring 36 legs, the Hood to Coast Relay ends in Seaside with music, awards, food and beer.
