Visiting the Oregon Coast
Explore the Oregon Coast this holiday season, from Astoria all the way down south to Brookings. You’ll want to visit some of the top area attractions, take part in festival local events, and there’s always a wide range of outdoor activity along the Oregon Coast.
The city of Astoria is found not far north from Cannon Beach, and is a short drive away from neighbor city Seaside. Enjoy stunning views of the Columbia River this holiday season in Astoria – don’t miss out on a tour of the Astoria Maritime Museum.
In Seaside, your holiday visit should be met with an evening at the theatre – head for the Coaster Theatre Playhouse and enjoy a live rendition of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, playing from December 5th through December 27th.
Keep the holiday spirit alive as you continue to explore Seaside – pack your funkiest Christmas sweater and join the fun at the Ugly Sweater 5K Run/Walk at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center on December 13th.
At the Gearheart Golf Links, another top Seaside attraction, don’t miss out on the holiday fun; check out the Mistletoe and Fruitcakes Golf Tourney on December 19th. Later in the day on December 19th, head for McMenamins Sand Trap Pub for live music from Rod Whaley.
Continue south along the Oregon Coast and discover Lincoln City. On December 22nd in Lincoln City, take part in the Winter Labyrinth Walk at the Lincoln City Cultural Center. Be sure to check out the play Sorry, Wrong Chimney at Theatre West, beginning December 27th and running through January 15th, 2015. Make the short drive into Lincoln City from nearby Newport.
When your holiday season visit to the Oregon Coast lands you in Coos Bay, be sure to experience the 30th Annual Candlelight Christmas Cantata – it’s held on Christmas Eve at the First United Methodist Church. In nearby Charleston, you’ll be able to take part in Whale Watching Week at Cape Arago, December 26th – January 1st.
