We regularly welcome employees of Union Pacific Railroad, the USDA Forest Service, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, to name just a few. Most Popular Area Attractions

McCredie Hot Springs

Make plans to visit Oregon and head for the Cascades. Be sure to check out McCredie Hot Springs, an unincorporated community you'll find as you drive through Lane County. A short drive from Oakridge, McCredie Hot Springs is known for a small collection of hot springs near Salt Creek

You'll find easy access to McCredie Hot Springs as you drive along Highway 58 – it's just about a 200-yard walk from the parking lot. With temperatures in the McCredie Hot Springs ranging between 115 degrees and 98 degrees, you'll find a dip to be quite refreshing during the cooler months.

Salt Creek Falls

Salt Creek Falls

Salt Creek Falls

As you head through the Cascades region, make a stay in nearby Oakridge and check out the Salt Creek Falls, one of the most brilliant and stunning natural formations and waterways in the state.

Visited by many, Salt Creek Falls is found just off the Willamette Highway near Too Much Bear Lake

One of the top attractions within the Willamette National Forest, Salt Creek Falls features a day use area for a small fee.

The falls at Salt Creek Falls is 286 feet high, and ranks as the second tallest in the state of Oregon.

Warm Springs

Found in Jefferson County within the Cascades region of Oregon, Warm Springs is a quaint and charming community. Symbolizing, almost ideally, the small town charms of Oregon, Warm Springs is north of Oakridge, intersected by Highway 26.

Officially known as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, the community is home to the Museum at Warm Springs, and routinely features local events like salmon bakes, story telling festivals, and drumming contests. Be sure to bring your clubs and play the Kah-Nee-Ta's 18-hole golf course, or try your luck at the Indian Head Casino.

Willamette Fish Hatchery

As you plan your next trek across the Oregon Cascades, head for Oakridge, a charming and quaint city, and visit the Willamette Fish Hatchery. Operated by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, the Willamette Hatchery raises, primarily, chinook salmon and summer steelhead.

Because the Willamette Fish Hatchery is in such close proximity to the Willamette National Forest, you'll be able to fish the local lakes, ponds, and streams found within. When you want to visit the actual hatchery, you can do so all year long – take note, though, Dexter Ponds can be visited only mid-June through September.

Willamette Pass Ski Area

Plan your next winter ski adventure for the Cascade region of Oregon and head for the Willamette Pass Ski Area. A short drive from nearby Oakridge, the Willamette Pass Ski Area is just north of Odell Lake, off of Highway 58, and features six total lifts and 29 runs spread across nearly 555 acres of skiable land.

While a bulk of the business seen at Willamette Pass Ski Area is during the winter season, summer visitors can also check out the area for hiking, sightseeing, and disc golf. Many others also choose geocaching and mountain biking the terrain in and around Diamond Peak Wilderness Area and Odell Lake.

Willamette River

Willamette River

Willamette River

One of the major channels of the Columbia River, the Willamette River is a long-stretching body of water in central Oregon.

At 187 miles long and nearly 100 miles wide, the Willamette River stretches from St. Helens, through Portland, weaves through Corvallis, and winds up just past Eugene where it splits off beyond Oakridge.

More than 15 dams have been constructed along the Willamette River since 1900, and 13 of those are managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

As you explore the Willamette River, you'll find nearly 50 different bridges and crossing spread across its entirety. Many guests to nearby cities enjoy fishing and bird watching along the Willamette River.
