This working Capitol building contains the offices of the Governor, Treasurer and Secretary of State, as well as the state legislature. With the addition of photovoltaic panels on the building in 2002, the Capitol became the first one that produces solar power. A portion of the power is used to light the 22ft tall bronze Oregon Pioneer statue, on top of the building.
