The Gorge Windfest is a fun summer-time windsurfing-themed festival, in Hood River. The festivities along the Columbia River Gorge include demonstrations, concerts, windsurfing lessons, clinics and a swap meet. The Columbia Gorge Windsurfing Association hosts Windfest, as well as the King of the Hook event, where instructors show-off their skills on the river. Mt. Hood Railroad

Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Musem

More commonly known as WAAAM, the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum is a premier destination near the Columbia River Gorge. As you explore Hood River, make sure you visit WAAAM – the whole family will enjoy tours showcasing classic and antique cars and vehicles of flight. 

Opened in 2007, the Western Antique Aeroplane & Automobile Museum is 95,000 square feet of explorable fun. You'll find WAAAM right next to the Ken Jernstedt Memorial Airport. Some of the antique autos you'll find at WAAAM include a Detroit Electric Car Model 63, built in 1914, and a 1930 American Austin Coupe. Don't miss the Schweizer TG-3, a WWII glider and the last of its kind.
