Lan Su Chinese Garden

Opened in 2000, the Lan Su Chinese Garden is a popular destination in the Portland metro area. Often visited during the blooming season in spring, the garden is home to a number of plant species not seen anywhere else but at the garden and in China.

Moda Center

Formerly known as the Rose Garden, the Moda Center, found in metropolitan Portland, is primarily home to the National Basketball League's Portland Trail Blazers. The arena was opened in 1995 and seats nearly 20,000 fans during the NBA season.

Opened in 1905, Oaks Amusement Park is a staple attraction in the Portland metro area.

The 44-acre amusement park is found on just off of Oaks Park Way along the Willemette River.

While they are season, you'll always be able to have some fun at the Oaks Amusement Park skating rink, open year round.

Head for the east end of Oaks and check out the Herschell-Spillman Noah's Ark Carousel, or the Screamin' Eagle.

Oregon Health & Science University

Located in downtown Portland, the Oregon Health and Science University is the only research and health university in Oregon. Since 1887, the university has grown into a world-class teaching hospital, while conducting research and providing quality healthcare for the Portland and surrounding communities.

Oregon Museum of Science & Industry

Established in 1944, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry is a popular day-trip destination in Portland.

Known locally as OMSI, the museum often hosts school field trips during the school session, families seeking a fun day for the kids, and generally those with an interest in science and engineering.

Oregon Zoo

Founded in 1946 as a two-year college, Portland State University is a public research institution located in downtown Portland.

With an enrollment of roughly 27,000 students, PSU offers 226 degree programs in seven major academic units.

One of the major channels of the Columbia River, the Willamette River is a long-stretching body of water in central Oregon.

At 187 miles long and nearly 100 miles wide, the Willamette River stretches from St. Helens, through Portland, weaves through Corvallis, and winds up just past Eugene where it splits off beyond Oakridge.

More than 15 dams have been constructed along the Willamette River since 1900, and 13 of those are managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
