Hells Canyon National Recreation Area

Hells Canyon National Recreation Area encompasses more than 652,000 acres in Eastern Oregon, near Baker City. Established as a national recreation area in 1975, Hells Canyon contains the deepest river gorge in North America, reaching a depth of 7,900 feet.
