Set in the Mount Hood National Forest, the famed Mount Hood is the highest point in Oregon – and can be seen from up to 100 miles away. Also known as Wy'east, Mt. Hood is set in the Oregon Cascades, roughly 50 miles southeast of the Portland metro area. Discover this well-known peak with a drive along the Mount Hood Scenic Byway, a getaway to its many ski areas, or a hike down the 40-mile Timberline Trail encircling the mountain.
