Visiting Metro Portland

Summer’s here in greater Portland and it’s fair time. August brings the 107th Clackamas County Fair & Rodeo to Canby, east of Interstate 5, 10 miles southeast of Wilsonville. Catch the excitement of the Canby Rodeo August 13th through 17th, and enjoy the Funtastic Carnival  filling the midway with rides, games and fair food. Be sure to make a visit to the Clackamas County Fair August 13th through 18th.

The community of Forest Grove celebrates summer at the 5th Annual Forest Grove Uncorked. The 2013 events fill downtown Forest Grove with live music, dancing and samples from local wineries and micro-breweries. Celebrate the wine, brews and food of Washington County and Forest Grove at Uncorked.

Cycling fans discover the history and scenery of Portland and the Mt. Hood area on the Barlow Road Ride. The two-day century ride takes place August 17th and 18th starting in Oregon City at the end of the Oregon Trail. The 100-mile adventure over-nights at Government Camp on Mt. Hood, before the downhill return to Oregon City.

Have a festive Labor Day Weekend and get ready for Portland’s 2013 MusicfestNW. Held September 3rd through 8th, MFNW features 6 days of live music at venues across Portland, including the Aladdin Theater, Crystal Ballroom and Hawthorne Theatre. Events also feature 4 nights of outdoor shows in Pioneer Courthouse Square. Hear cutting edge music in Portland at MusicfestNW.

Feast Portland 2013 celebrates the culinary talent and cuisine of the Rose City. Held September 19th through the 22nd at venues throughout downtown Portland. Presented by bon appetite, Feast Portland features a dinner series, speakers and classes among the events. Discover the culinary talent of Portland and the abundance of local Oregon ingredients.

Before you know it, fall air creeps into Portland and the annual Pumpkin Fest begins. Hosted at the Wood Shoe Tulip Farm, Pumpkin Fest begins the end of September and runs through the month of October. Celebrate the harvest season with a visit to the farm, and enjoy a warm early fall day in fields, corn mazes and pumpkin patches with the family.
